Considered spaces for intentional living.

Intentional living

Creating spaces that encourage people to slow down, connect, move with ease and find meaning in everyday rituals.

Our philosophy

An architectural and spatial design practice working across Mumbai and the U.A.E. — three ways into the studio's world.

Mumbai · U.A.E.

DCA x Rashi Chheda designs for clients who already believe in intentional living and quiet luxury — curating rooms around art, objects, light and the histories a family wants to keep close.

01 — About Us

Almost six decades of considered design.

DCA x Rashi Chheda is an architectural and spatial design discipline, founded in 1967 as Darshan Chheda Atelier by Hirji Chheda — a name that became synonymous with unparalleled craftsmanship in Indian interior design and architecture. His belief that design could elevate everyday life still shapes the studio today, carried by a second generation with the same instinct for restraint across India and the U.A.E. Clients are typically high-net-worth individuals who already believe in intentional living and luxury, and who want a home that reflects that conviction rather than announces it.

Studio Philosophy

Architectural Well-being & Intentional Living

Our philosophy begins with a simple belief: the spaces we inhabit shape the lives we lead.

We design with architectural well-being at the centre—considering not only the physical comfort of a space, but its emotional and psychological impact. Natural light, air, acoustics, thermal comfort, ergonomics, movement and connection to nature are considered alongside the quieter needs of life: privacy and togetherness, solitude and gathering, stimulation and stillness.

This becomes our approach to intentional living—creating spaces that encourage people to slow down, connect, move with ease and find meaning in everyday rituals.

For us, design is not about filling a space beautifully. It is about editing, balancing and composing an environment around the way one wants to live.

Every material, transition, view and object has a role.

Every space should evoke a feeling.

We design not just for how a space looks, but for how life feels within it.

DCA × Rashi Chheda — eight years of practice

Rashi Chheda, Principal Designer, brings a background in light design and a deep appreciation for art, culture, history and antique collectibles to every project. She completed her interior design education at Rachana Sansad, Mumbai, graduating top of her class with accolades for work completed during the course.

She approaches each project as experiential design — curating a lifestyle around the objects, art and histories that give a space its identity.

02 — Spaces

Architecture & interiors, one considered stage at a time.

Every project — from a single room to a full residence — moves through the same five stages, whether it takes months or years to complete.

01 — Listening

Understanding how you actually live

Before a single line is drawn, we spend time with how a family moves through a day — the rituals, the objects they won't part with, the light they're drawn to.

02 — Concept & Planning

Translating the brief into space

The brief becomes a spatial language — circulation, proportion, and the relationship between rooms — resolved before any material is chosen.

03 — Materiality & Light

Choosing what a room is made of

Drawing on a background in light design, every material and fixture is selected for how it behaves at different hours — this is where atmosphere is set.

04 — Craft & Detailing

Working alongside artisans

Custom furniture, joinery and finishes are developed hand-in-hand with the craftspeople who make them — precision at every join.

05 — Realisation

Handed over as a finished lifestyle

The last stage isn't a handover of keys — it's styling a home so it already feels lived in, curated, and complete.
